Politics
The Antarctic continent is regulated by the Antarctic Treaty. Due to this the continent is politically neutral as regulated by the treaty. The treaty prohibits any military activity including establishment of military bases and fortifications. Military manoeuvres and weapon testing is also prohibited. Later on the Madrid Protocol was added, banning all mining and devoting Antarctica to peace and Science.
